Every first drop of the rainy season makes everyone feel different, and for me and my heart, it’s time to fly and explore some amazing new places. The world is a hidden heaven; the more we get into it, the more it mesmerizes us. Pune, the city of clouds, rain, mountains, canyon, and forests, is close to my heart. The city is no less than heaven in the rainy season, where a Vada pav is yummier than a burger, a cup of tea can beat a Starbuck’s coffee, and roadside Masculine (Corn) will make you even more hungry. From sightseeing to picnic spots, the city has much to explore for your weekend trips. This blog will take you through one of the best Places near Pune for one day trip.

Thokarwadi Dam and Waterfall: Place Near Pune for One Day Trip

Exploring places near Pune is always in your mind, especially in the rainy season, where you can see a lot of waterfalls on the lush green mountain along the roadside and dams full to their brim. It’s like a scenery of childhood that everyone must have painted on a sheet of paper during their drawing class.
A few days ago, I got a chance to visit an unexplored place near Pune. It’s a waterfall in Khandi village known as Khandi waterfall, and the Thokarwadi Dam surrounds Khandi village. It was a one-day trip located about 75km from Pune.

How to Reach Thokarwadi Waterfall (Trip Route)

Our trip started early morning from Pune via the old Pune-Mumbai highway towards Lonavala. After traveling around 50 km, we turned right to change that.
After crossing the railway crossing and traveling about 30 km, we reached the base village of Khandi, surrounded by waterfalls and the Thokarwadi Dam.
On our way to Khandi village from Khane, the route was surrounded by beautiful scenic views with greenery. Since it had been raining for the past few days, we noticed a lot of waterfalls.
Among them, We visited approximately 2-3 waterfalls. The water was clear, like milky white water from the mountains attracting us. The place was pleasant & peaceful, but I must say the way was even most adventurous and beautiful.

Main Attraction point

Surrounded by the Western Ghats, the place has beauty with many scenic views. All roads were in very good condition, although it was a bit slender, the views wouldn’t let you blink an eye from the beautiful way all around.
You will see a lot of waterfalls on the way, including Khandi Waterfall, Bendewadi Waterfall, and Kanhe Phata Waterfall, flowing from the mountains.
Thukarwadi dam, with crystal clear water and an adjacent place to sit, makes it a perfect spot for a picnic.
With perfect water flow and nearby steps, the Khandi waterfall can be enjoyed with friends and family.

Conclusion:
So, if you are visiting Pune in the rainy season and need clarification about things to do in Pune. Thokarwadi Dam is an excellent destination and one of the best Places near Pune for one day trip, which you can go with your friends and family. Because this Dam is not well-known among tourists, you may spend quality time in its backwaters. Backwater is surrounded by mountains and may easily be visited for a day.
