1. Perot Museum of Nature and Science

  

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is a natural history & science museum. It has interesting artifacts like fossils, dinosaurs, architecture, minerals, gems, etc. The museum has a collection of more than 1,30,000 specimens on various subjects. It is a five-story building with various exhibits kept at different levels. The place is well maintained, with collections of objects from dinosaurs to modern-day birds. It does have a book library within. Many researchers and scholars make use of this library.

Visiting Hours: 10 am to 5 pm 

2. The Sixth Floor Museum

It got its name after the assassination of President Kennedy took place on the sixth floor of the building where perch & rifle were found. If you wish to see the events of the assassination reports by government investigations in the forms of artifacts, historic films, photographs, and interpretive displays, then the Sixth Floor Dallas Museum is the right place to visit. It shows the legacy of President Kennedy.

Visiting Hours: 10 am to 5 pm. Around 1-2 hours are enough to see the entire museum.  

3. The Crow Museum of Asian Art

Being in Dallas and seeing the art and culture of Asian countries is nothing like it. The Crow Museum of Asian Arts depicts the ancient to contemporary art and culture of Asian countries like India, Nepal, Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, China, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, & Philippines. 4. The Frontiers of Flight Museum

5. Dallas Contemporary

Dallas Contemporary Museum as the name suggests, shows contemporary artistic practice and production in the form of exhibition, public programs, performances. It showcases ideas from regional, national & international artists. This museum was founded by Patricia Meadows under the name of D’Art Visuals Arts Center. Later it was renamed as Dallas Contemporary. The exhibitions held here keep changing. The museum is active in conducting educational programs, lectures, and various exhibitions, which are the major highlights.

Visiting Hours: It’s open on all days between 11 am to 6 pm except Monday. On Sundays between 12 pm to 5 pm. 

6. The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum

 

The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum is a museum related to history education museum The main aim of this museum is to teach the history of the Holocaust and advance human rights. The museum is divided into various sections, beginning with the Orientation wing, followed by the Holocaust Shoah Wing, next is Human Rights wing, and lastly, the Pivot to America Wing. The specialty of the museum is that it exhibits a permanent exhibition called Dimensions in Testimony. It uses 3D holographic technology and artificial intelligence to present genocide survivors. It is the best thing to experience at this museum.

Visiting Hours: It’s open from 10 am to 5 pm on all days of the week except Tuesdays.

7. Meadows Museum

Meadows Museum is a huge two-storey building spread across 66,000 sq. ft. It is a very famous Art Museum in Dallas. You can see the largest and most comprehensive collections of Spanish art outside Spain at this museum. Here, you will also get to see Renaissance Era artworks, Polychrome Wood Sculptures, Monumental Baroque Canvases, and Rococo Oil Sketches. 8. Nasher Sculpture Center

You should definitely plan a visit to this museum to see Patsy and Raymond Nasher’s collection of modern and contemporary sculpture. Spread across 2.4 acres of land. It is adjacent to the Dallas Museum of Arts. It has a collection of artworks from renowned artists like Picasso, Calder, Matisse, and many more. It has rotating exhibitions of works from the Nasher family collection. The huge building has a gallery, an auditorium, an education and research facility, a café and a store to explore within it.

9. African American Museum of Dallas

African American Museum is dedicated to researching, identifying, selecting, presenting, and preserving visual art forms and historical documents. It is a huge museum, and it would take around 2-3 hours to cover the entire museum, showing the artwork of the African American eras. It is divided into four levels. The first level shows African American Slavery, followed by the Civil Rights Movement on the 2nd, on third level is the Museum Store, and the 4th and top level has music. It is worth visiting.

Visiting Hours: You can visit from Tuesday to Friday between 11 am to 5 pm. On Saturday it opens from 10 am up to 5 pm. Do not go on Sunday & Monday as it is closed on these two days.

10. The Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum

The Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum exhibits the Samurai Collection. It is a 25-year-old museum managed by Ann & Gabriel Barbier and their family. Here, you would be amazed to see objects from the 7th to 19th centuries. Samurai masterpieces include suits of armor, helmets, masks, horse armor, and weaponry which are on display.
