This crowdedness is why I am always searching for hidden waterfalls that are less crowded yet provide a refreshing experience. This season, i did my research on some hidden or outskirt waterfalls which are less crowded and blessed with the most scenic natural beauty. Nanemachi Waterfall is one of them. The Waterfall is an offbeat waterfall with a height of 400-500 feet. It is located in Mahad Taluka, Raigad District, Maharashtra. The Nanemachi Waterfall distance from Mumbai is around 197.1 km and 126.5 km from Pune.

How to reach Nanemachi by Car from Pune?
We started our journey a bit early, at 6:30 am. We planned to drive our own vehicle to reach the base village of Nanemachi. Our target was to arrive before 10:00 am. To avoid making the trip rough and dull, we took 2-3 short breaks along the way and enjoyed every moment. Once we reached the base village, we parked our car at the paid parking and took our water bottles and snacks from the trails ahead.
Well, what to say about the view and surroundings? It was incredible; if you are staying in or nearby Pune, you can understand how nature looks here during monsoon.
From there, it took a 30-45 minute walk along a flat trail to reach the stunning Nanemachi waterfall. The trail was easy and perfect for beginners and families. It rained too, although we were very prepared for that and enjoyed it. We took so many pictures that our every moment can live us forever.
The only challenging part of our trip was climbing a few rocks just before reaching the main waterfall. However, the breathtaking beauty of the waterfall made it all worthwhile.
How to Reach Nanemachi waterfall by public transportation?
You can use roadways, buses, or trains to reach the nearest railway or bus station. From there, various bus, auto, taxi, and cab services are available to reach Nanemachi Waterfall. The nearest bus station to the waterfall is the Mahad ST stop, 23 kilometers away.
The nearest railway station, Sape Wamne, is around 35 kilometers from the waterfall.
The difficulty level of Nanemachi Waterfall Trek
I would rate the Nanemachi waterfall Trek very Easy level trek. There is no climbing; it is a flat walk of 30-45 minutes that starts from the base village of Nanemachi. Whether you are a pro trekker or a beginner, you can cover it comfortably.
Sometimes, dense and slippery forests can make walking challenging during the rainy season. So be extra cautious while trekking to Nanemachi waterfall.
How was my journey to Nanemachi Waterfall?
After one hour of leaving for Manemachi village, we made it to. It was raining so everything was very pleasant as the sky was covered with clouds. A bit of foggy weather was worth it. Also, it was 7:30 am in the morning, so the air was so fresh and refreshing, making us full of lively. We stopped at the Rohit Vadavale had vada pav as excitement boosted our hunger.
As soon as we resumed our journey, we entered the region between Bhor Ghat and Varandha Ghat. I got completely lost in the breathtaking views. The area looks amezing as the Konkanย region ofย Maharashtra starts from here.
Overall, we witnessed the surreal view all along the way, including lush green forests with numerous waterfalls. The road condition was good as we took the NH 965DD Route.
We started early, which resulted in less traffic. Around 10:45 am, we arrived at the waterfall. It was raining heavily, making clicking amazing pictures difficult, but our enjoyment was at the top level. The trip was memorable, full of laughter and stories, scenic views, stopovers, and snacks on snacks. We stayed there until 3 pm, soaking in the beauty and creating lasting memories. Then, we reluctantly packed up and began our journey home.
Food options at Nanemachi Waterfall Trek
Where did we have lunch? Are there enough restaurants? Well, your concern is on point. The good news is that there are a couple of hotels and food outlets where you can easily get freshly made food near Nanemachi village. You will see many other small food huts even when the trek starts.
Trekkers who forget to bring their water bottles can buy them from the temporary stalls organized by villagers, especially for tourists. Besides that, butta (corn) and kanda bhaji are must-try items during the trek.
